Benozzo Gozzoli Biography
(b Florence, c . 142022; d Pistoia, 4 Oct 1497). Italian painter. He was one of the most prolific fresco painters of his generation. Active principally in Tuscany, but also in Umbria and Rome, he had a facility for satisfying current tastes that secured him a steady stream of commissions throughout his career.
