  • Follower of Hendrick Golzius 1558 - 1617 and Jacob Matham 1571 - 1631. 'The Judgement of Venus'. An exceptional watercolour, gouache and stipple work on vellum. In the round, and set in a baroque carved frame, with spun glass. Verso, an earlier label indicating this work was previously attributed to the great pastellist Rosalba Carriera 1673 - 1757, and exhibited in Northampton 1876.
