A E Mulready Biography
(b 23 Feb 1844; d after 1903). English painter, grandson of (1) William Mulready. He studied at the South Kensington Schools and entered the Royal Academy Schools, London, in December 1861 on the recommendation of J. C. Horsley. In 1863 he won the silver medal for drawing from the Antique. Horsley was prominent in the artists colony at Cranbrook in Kent (see CRANBROOK COLONY), where Mulready was recorded in 1870 and 1872 although no rural scenes by him are known. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1863 and 1880, and he was still active in November 1903.
