  • REESE, T. W.  New Zealand Cricket 1841-1914. Christchurch: Simpson & Williams Limited, 1927. 8vo. Half title, full-page half tone illustrations. Original green cloth, spine lettered in dark green with silver fern motif, the upper cover ruled and lettered in black, dust-jacket (some wear and soiling, backstrip discoloured). Provenance: W. J. A. Brittenden (stamp on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION, ASSOCIATION COPY, inscribed on the front free endpaper, “To Henry, The voice that breathed in Eden, and Lancaster Park et al. Dick.” “Dick” is Richard Trevor Brittenden (1919-2002), New Zealand’s most prominent writer on cricket. A second volume, not present here, was published in 1936, covering the years 1914-33.
