The dimensions of the image are c. 61.5 x 45 cm, the sheet’s dimensions are 65 x 50 cm.Ossip Zadkine (1890-1967)The sculptor and watercolorist was born in Smolensk and came to England in 1906, where he studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic in London and spent half a year at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1909), where he eventually settled. From 1912 onwards Zadkine regularly exhibited at the Société des Artistes Indépendants. From 1923 onwards he also showed his works at the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon d'Automne. After spending a few years in New York, he again became resident in Paris after World War II, where he became teacher at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. Counting among Zadkine’s most famous works are the sculpture commemorating the destruction and reconstruction in Rotterdam and the 10 m long relief frieze for a movie theater in Brussels. Other artworks can be seen among others at the Art Institute in Philadelphia and at museums in Tokyo, Antwerp, Ottawa, Dresden and Amsterdam.  Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
