TWO DAY AUCTION: SATURDAY, May 30th, 2009 - 11:00 AM and SUNDAY, May 31st, 2009 - 11:00 AM. For our Spring Feature, we have assembled a variety of important collections into one auction. This two-day event literally has something for everyone.

Sale Notes:

Day Two includes a fabulous assemblage of 20th c. and Contemporary Art, including works by Michael Coleman, Georges Aglane, Yvonne Jacquette, Gene Klebe, and William Thon, plus a small collection of important Photographs by George Daniell. Contemporary furniture by Paul McCobb, Phillippe Starck, and Charles Eames highlight the extensive 19th and 20th c. Furniture grouping. Over 100 lots of exquisite diamond and gemstone jewelry will be offered, highlighted by an antique platinum and diamond wedding set and a pair of gold Panther Head earrings by Cartier. A single owner collection of Baseball Memorabilia, including the rare Shoeless Joe Jackson decal bat, early cards, and 27 autographed baseballs will be offered, as well as a 45 lot collection of important Gold and Silver Coins. A fine Russian Silver caviar presentoir, an early 20th c. Handel lamp, an 1895 Wm. Bond & Son Tall Case Clock, and Gents Watch by Patek Phillippe & Co., highlight the Silver, Lighting and Timepiece assemblages to be offered.

Lot 501: c1900 French Enamel Bud Vase Woman Flowing Hair

BUD VASE - Fine circa 1900, French enamel bud vase depicting a female with leaves in her long flowing hair against a mountain landscape. Narrow neck with flared body on small footed base. 4 1/2" high, 2 1/2" diam, very good condition.

 

Lot 502: Japanese Porcelain Fish Bowl Ruffled Top Meiji

JAPANESE PORCELAIN FISH BOWL - Large Low Ruffled Top Fish Bowl decorated in blue on white with cherry trees and peonies, late Meiji period, 9 1/2" deep, 12" diam, very good condition, blue stain to interior.

BOWL - Sterling center bowl by Tiffany & Co #18780, makers 3719. Heavy cast clover blossom pattern rim, monogrammed. 17.16 ozt, good condition.

 

Lot 504: 4 Sterling Candle Sticks Gorham J E Caldwell

CANDLE STICKS - Set of four tall sterling weighted base candle sticks by Gorham, made for J.E. Caldwell. Slender urn form set on oval bases. 65.8 ozt total weight, 9" high, 5" wide, 3 3/4" deep, good condition.

 

Lot 505: Bronze Fountainhead Putti D Gabbrielli Italian

BRONZE FOUNTAINHEAD - Putti Holding a Goose Under Each Arm by Donatello Gabbrielli (Italian, 20th c), signed on back of base, tubed for water to come from beaks of geese, roughly 11" x 8" x 23 1/2" tall, fine condition, nice verdigris patina.
