TWO DAY AUCTION: SATURDAY, January 28, 2012 - 11:00 AM and SUNDAY, January 29, 2012 - 11:00 AM. This will be the first of six auctions planned for 2012, and we are excited to begin with such a stunning array of items. From an original Edison Lamp to an exquisite Patek Philippe mechanical Bird Music Box, this auction is sure to have a treasure for everyone.

Sale Notes:

Day One includes a spectacular collection of important artwork from the 16th Century to present day. Works by Daniel Thomas Egerton, Gillis Jacobsz Hulsdonck, Percy Sanborn, Johan Neumann , and Louis Beroud hang alongside an impressive selection of Old Master portraits. A Tang Dynasty Pottery Horse, a 17th c. Bronze and Gold Pot and a Warring States Period Silver Bird-Form Finial highlight the 100 lot selection of Chinese, Japanese and Middle Eastern treasures. 13 very rare early European maps are included in the selection of ephemera. The 50 lot nautical section, which offers pond yachts, half-hulls, fittings, instruments and lanterns, even includes a searchlight from JFK's PT boat. All forms of fine 17th, 18th, and 19th century American and European furniture are represented, including a circa 1790 Boston Chest, a 17th C. Dutch chest, a Chippendale Highboy and a New York Sheraton Sideboard. A very important collection of ornate Flintlock and Percussion Pistols from the 18th and 19th centuries are being offered along with cannons, handguns and edge weapons. Rounding out this session is over 40 fine oriental carpets, antique silver, Native American artifacts, bronze sculpture, cast iron and tin toys, 19th c. samplers and fine period timepieces.
