Lot 1: RARE JOHN BELL ATTRIBUTED PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED EARTHENWARE BOWL MADE FOR THE SNOW HILL NUNNERY
lead single glazed, everted and collared rim, interior with slip-trailed green and cream decoration featuring a central six-point star.
Lot 2: STRASBURG, VA POLYCHROMED EARTHENWARE WASH PITCHER
lead, copper and manganese glazes over a slip wash, tall ovoid form with a multi-spur handle and pronounced foot.
Lot 3: FINE ZIGLER POTTERY, TIMBERVILLE, VA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR
salt glazed, approximately 1 gallon, tall ovoid form with a bold rounded rim above multiple incised rings and two tab-like handles, brushed and slip-trailed cobalt tulip decoration on both sides, additional strong cobalt on rings and handles.
Lot 4: EXTREMELY RARE SUTER POTTERY, ROCKINGHAM CO., VA ATTRIBUTED EARTHENWARE TOBACCO JAR WITH COVER
lead and manganese glazed, squat conical form with a broad rim above a single incised ring, original cover with a button-like finial and sharp outer rim.
Lot 5: STAMPED "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C", DECORATED STONEWARE JAR
salt glazed, 1 gallon capacity mark, ovoid form with a rounded rim and two pulled handles, brushed cobalt horizontal floral decoration on front and three leaves on reverse.
