  The Name of Bearne's has been associated with sales of antiques in the Westcountry for sixty years. The Firm was started in 1945 by Arthur Bearne and the twenty two sales that he held in his first year of trading averaged a total of £269 each. Today, 60 years later, Bearne's retains much of the 'family firm' ethos, with Richard Bearne, Arthur's grandson, as company chairman. This family tradition is bolstered by the other experts and staff who have remained with the firm over the years, making Bearne's one of the leading firms of provincial Fine Art Auctioneers.

  Clients are welcome to bring objects to St Edmund's Court for advice. A verbal opinion of value will be given without charge or obligation. Bearne's are also pleased to call to inspect items by appointment at a client's home or bank and again no charge is made for this service.
