  • History & Reputation

Established in 1987 in New York, Butterscotch Auction Gallery proudly identifies as the preeminent auction house in Westchester County. Nestled in historic Bedford Village, Butterscotch Auction Gallery conducts three auctions annually in the town’s two-hundred-year-old Historical Hall, and has partnered with Invaluable.com for eight auctions, to date. Catering to a cosmopolitan audience of collectors, dealers, and museum curators, the Gallery features a smorgasbord of collections at auction, and frequently highlights fine works of American art and jewelry.

Butterscotch Auction Gallery boasts many notable sales, including that of an Andy Warhol "Uncle Sam" screenprint, in colors with diamond dust, for $21,000; an Anthony Thieme oil on canvas, of a St. Augustine water view with sailors on a boat, which sold for $60,000; Lynn Chadwick's "Paper Hat" bronze, which achieved $20,000 over its top estimate, at $60,000; a Paul Evans sculptured and enameled-iron console cabinet, which garnered $100,000; a rare Grueby low-form vase, which brought in a record-setting $102,000; and a still-life painting by renowned Dutch Golden Age artist Rachel Ruysch, which fetched a record-breaking $2,040,000.
