    Freeman's auction house has been a family run business for over a century, and is trusted as America's oldest auction house with nine locations throughout the United States and in Europe. The auction house offers more than 30 auctions per year, and has hosted hundreds of live auctions online on as a platinum house.

    With a long history, Freeman's has sold important pieces including a chess playing automaton and a desk that is said to have belonged to Benjamin Franklin. Notable sales from Freeman's in the past few years include a 2011 sale of a $3.5 million jade seal, and a $3.4 million American art and impressionist lot sale in 2014. N.C. Wyeth's I Stood Like One Thunderstruck, or As If I Had Seen an Apparition alone sold for $435,750, tripling its estimated sale price.

    Freeman has a number of art specialists in fine and modern art, Pennsylvania folk art, and Asian art. Other specialties offered by the auction house include jewelry, rugs, design, and works on paper.

    Freeman's is one of the United States' first family owned businesses still in operation. Samuel M. "Beau" Freeman II is the current chairman and the sixth generation of the Freeman family at the helm of the auction house.
