  • Gene and Donna Harris have run the family business for the past 50 years. Now they have turned over the keys to their daughter, who has partnered with her own daughter to continue the most trusted and respected antique auction house in the country. Serving America in Iowa with fine antique auctions since 1950.

Time, Change and Growth, this is what our lives are all about. Despite all of this, time, change and growth are our greatest assets when used and viewed as an opportunity. Gene and Donna Harris owners of Gene Harris Antique Auction Center, Inc. of Marshalltown, Iowa are taking advantage of their opportunity to pass on their much beloved business to the next generation. As a business, and a family, much has been endured and accomplished over the last 50 years of their noteworthy existence. Now, with their daughter Julie Stern at the helm, and Julie's daughter Amanda at her side they are prepared to weather these seas of change, and sail full speed ahead into the 21st Century.

While striving to remain in the front lines of the strictly "Antique Auctions" field here in the heartland, the Gene Harris Antique Auction Center is constantly researching, updating their website, and educating their staff as well as the public.

Specialty auctions featuring one category or collection of vintage clocks, radios, toys, glass & china have become their niche and draw interest world wide on a semi-annual basis, making their center a mecca or miniature convention with all who attend. "After selling an average of 400 clocks every six months for the past 30 plus years, the return attendees have become "family", too.", says Stern. With incoming collections from Denver to Milwaukee, the Auction Center will be highlighting categories. Stationary steam engines, radios, clocks, lamps, scales, battery operated toys, as well as Empire and Victorian furnishings from fine homes will be featured.
