From our past specialty sales of American antiques, Victorian, Margolis and Fineberg furniture, sporting auctions, book auctions, coin and jewelry auctions, general merchandise auctions, and on site auctions, we have built a National and International clientele. We have a large mailing list of over 9,000 and we do all our own moving and have on-site storage, alarms, safes, trucks and insurance. We advertise all of our sales locally and sometimes Internationally in papers such as The Hartford Courant, The Springfield Journal, The Antiques and Arts Weekly (Newtown Bee) and other national papers.
We can give you the attention and expertise you need when handling large and small estates, to make your job easier and worry free. We will expend the resources to maximize prices for you. We structure competitive commission rates. ***For museums and institutions, we offer special commission rates for quality items.*** For that reason we do not work on the same rates all of the time and rates do vary. Our fees for buying and selling are different for each estate and are calculated by the worth of the merchandise and the labor involved to give the seller as many advantages as possible.
Nadeau's has been in the furniture and antique business since 1945 and we have been in the auction business for eighteen years. For the past ten years we have been in Windsor Connecticut. As of November 1998, we are located in our brand-new 12,000 square foot facility, which is the newest large-capacity auction facility in New England. We are centrally located immediately at the end of exit 34 off Route 91. We are just 3 minutes from Hartford center, 8 minutes from West Hartford center, 35 minutes from New Haven, 20 minutes from Springfield, Massachusetts, and 3 minutes from the North, South, East and West Route 84 and Route 91 interchange. With over 8, 500 square feet of auction room, we have the largest in Connecticut. We also incorporated in to our auction room, a glass wall over 65 feet long for displaying upcoming auction merchandise which affords us the opportunity to display fine items while they are being stored instead of packing items up in our back room as most other galleries do.
Nadeau's computer system is the newest and fastest system of all Connecticut auction houses with complete tracking capabilities. We run all auctions with our computer system, from registering buyers to seller close outs.
We run weekly auctions that are stronger in dollars realized than anyone in Connecticut and when we run our major sales, we consistently take in $500,000.00 to $1,230,000.00 per sale, which is more than anyone else can boost in central Connecticut. In our weekly auctions, we usually register between 100 and 200 people. In major sales we register between 350 and 550 people. We also handle 200-300 registered left bids and usually do 150-300 telephone bids during major auctions.
We also do Estate Fair Market Value appraisals, please call for information.
Please feel free to call me at any time with any questions, inquiries or for references.
