Since 1985, Poster Auctions International has specialized in vintage poster sales. The auction house offers quarterly auction sales of rare and unique posters at Rennert's Gallery. Live and timed auctions are available on Invaluable.com, where Poster Auctions International is a platinum member. Poster Auctions International hosted four auctions with Invaluable.com in 2014.
Known for its sales of notable and important posters, Poster Auctions International's quarterly sales attract poster collectors worldwide. The auction house set a record in 1989 with the sale of the iconic "Moulin Rouge" by Toulouse-Lautrec. It sold for $220,000 and was the highest price paid for a poster at auction.
Poster Auctions International specializes in rare, vintage, and highly sought after posters. The auction house deals exclusively in collectable paper goods, primarily posters, but also including selected books and periodicals.
Poster Auctions International hosts auctions just four times a year, offering exclusive, rare posters during these sales. Auctions are conducted at Rennert's Gallery in New York, and live online bidding is available as well. Auction sale catalogues are available online, as well as past auction books and art reference books.
Sellers are encouraged to consign posters for sale with Poster Auctions International. Consigners should photograph their pieces and call the auction house for an estimated value to start the consignment process.
Owner Jack Rennert has extensive experience in vintage posters and 20 years as a poster auctioneer. In addition to Poster Auctions International, Rennert owns Posters Please, a private retailer of vintage posters, as well as Rennert's Gallery, which houses both Poster Auctions International and Posters Please, plus a poster library and reference room.
Poster Auctions International maintains an active vintage poster blog with interesting observations from sales, acquisitions, and poster history.
