    For more than 20 years, Rago Auctions has been one of the premiere auction houses in the New Jersey area, specializing in fine art, modern design, and estates. The auction house typically holds 20 auctions per year, and offered live online bidding with Invaluable.com for seven auction sales in 2014.


    In its history, Rago Auctions has sold a number of notable pieces. In 2014, Rago Auctions sold the largest known near-round saltwater pearl in existence, known as the Putlov Pearl Brooch, for $813,750. Other important items sold recently by the auction house include a 20th century bronze abstract sculpture for $18,750 and a Hector Aguilar Aztec silver flatware service.

    Founder of Rago Auctions, David Rago has 35 years of experience as a specialist in American and European 20th century decorative arts and furnishings. He is the author of five books in arts and crafts collecting as well as publisher of two nationally distributed magazines. Rago is frequently featured as an appraiser on Antiques Roadshow.
