  The Walker Barnett & Hill empire. The son of a cabinet maker, himself a builder, introduced the vital economic function of trading by auction from his home in the Berry Street, Part of the embryonic industrial town.
  
  Using his experience and knowledge of timber and cabinet making and associated crafts , he presided over bidding to the candle, the early method of auctioneering, the last bid before the candle ceased to burn was the Successful one. He had begun a family tradition which has continued in all but the method of bidding to this day. Supplying a range of professional services that have facilitated and reflected the growth of our region to this day. Through their function of assembling buyers in the face of informed valuations, generations of auctioneers have created the trade which is vital to economic progress.

  We are pleased to offer inspection visits to clients homes, without obligation. Free verbal valuations are given, unless exceptional traveling expenses are incurred. To assist executors and their professional advisers, we are pleased to make inspection visits to advise on the nature and value of house contents and the most advantageous method of disposal, be it sale on the premises , or through selected specialized sales.

  We offer professional advice on personal services assisting clients with the purchasing of antiques; undertaking inspection, valuation and attendance at auctions throughout the United Kingdom.
  
  House Clearance Service
  
  This service is primarily of interest to executors having responsibility for the entire clearance of a property. Our specialists offer their expertise to assist executors in their duty of ensuring that all items, achieve their maximum sales potential.
  
  We also supervise the removal of rubbish and unsaleable items and arrange any necessary cleaning of the property and site.
  
  Transport & High Security Storage
