Founded by Adam Weschler in 1890 and still operated by Weschler family members today, Weschler's is a trusted auctioneer serving Washington D.C. and the surrounding area. Weschler's holds several catalogue auctions each season, including decorative arts, furniture, paintings, jewelry, rugs, and more. Weschler's hosted eight live online auctions on Invaluable.com in 2014, and is an Invaluable.com platinum member.
Weschler's is Washington D.C.'s only auction house, and has been trusted to sell the estates of prominent D.C. families and individuals including the estates of Ambassador and Mrs. Philip Bonsal, Honorable and Mrs. William McChesney Martin, Jr., and Mary Marvin Breckinridge Patterson.
Weschler's Capital Collections catalogued estate auctions feature excellent pieces including fine art, jewelry, furniture, and decorative art. Weekly Metro auctions offer period pieces, collectibles, household goods, silver, jewelry, and more.
Weschler's auction sales are open to the public, and buyers are encouraged to attend pre sale exhibitions or subscribe to auction catalogues. A current schedule of Capital Collections auctions is available online. Bidders may participate by attending an auction, by absentee bidding, live online with Invaluable.com, and in a limited capacity, with telephone bidding.
The staff at Weschler's are experienced in estate auction sales and can sell the contents of an entire estate, collection, or individual item. Auction estimates are available by appointment at the gallery or on location, or consignors may send photographs by mail or email. Weschler's also offers free appraisal days the first Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., when specialists are available to offer auction estimates with no appointment needed.
Weschler's is a family owned business and is operated by fourth and fifth generations of Weschler family members.
Auction schedules and catalogues for Capital Collections, Metro, real estate, specialty, and live auctions are available on the Weschler's website.
