(1789) George Washington Inaugural Button, Eagle and Star Type, Albert WI-12C, Plain Reverse, with Original Shank, Choice Near Mint.
Rarity-2. 35mm. This classic variety design type has 63 incuse dots, or indentations, forming the outer border. Within this is another border of extremely fine denticles (incuse lines). This wonderful example has a plain reverse, with its original shank fully intact. This George Washington Inaugural button has a nice rich natural glossy yellow-brass color with a some trivial hairline scratches in the top half from light use when worn. Few high quality examples of this caliber have come to the collector market recently. Any of these Inaugural Buttons in such high quality are considered exceedingly rare and desirable.
