Notes: * On 16th August 1819 a huge crowd assembled at St Peter’s Field in Manchester to hear the orator Henry Hunt. Acting upon instructions of the local magistrates the Yeomanry endeavoured to disperse the crowd. In the ensuing mayhem fifteen people were killed and many hundreds injured.
