Royal Tunbridge Wells, United KingdomLive Auction
Description: 1926 Pattern French Infantry Adrian Pattern Steel Combat Helmet, good example of an early 1926 pattern Adrian helmet which retains the flaming grenade infantry badge to the front, later examples had the badge within a circle. Exterior shell retains all of its original green combat paint finish. Inside the helmet is a six tongue leather liner system and brown leather chinstrap. Some surface rust spots to the exterior of the shell but otherwise a very good example. These early patterns were the examples worn during the early stages of WW2 and the Battle of France. Now are very hard to find as many were destroyed when France was occupied by the Third Reich.
