March 13, 1944-Dated, World War II Period, Typed Telegram Signed "N.S. Khrushchev" as Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, 1 page, 8" x 5.5", Ukraine, Choice Very Fine. Very clean and strong in eye appeal, some paper loss at left edge not affecting the text, punch hole at left edge. This historic Telegram is numbered "N172" and includes a full English translation. It reads, in full:
"HIGHER GOVERNMENT TELEGRAM / VOLSK BOLSHEVIK CEMENT PLANT TO GRINEV / SARATOV PARTY REGIONAL COMMITTEE TO KOMAROV / Saratov TO THE HEAD OF THE RYAZAN-URAL RAILROAD SHMELEV

In 1941, the German Army took over the Kramatorsk plant which had made heavy machinery for Russia's iron and steel industry. The Germans used the plant to repair and produce tanks and other heavy equipment for their war effort. The plant employed 2,000 russian workers under the supervision of the Krupp company.
