Description: 1971 New Map Solyto
No reserve

French registration
Chassis n ° 73836

- Nice cosmetic restoration
- Only two owners from new
- Lovely utility vehicle
- From an important collection of Microcars
- No Reserve

In the 1950s, SOLYTO (SOciété LYonnaise de TOlerie) was offering this small 3-wheeler utility vehicle, distributed by New-Map. It is powered by a two-stroke single-cylinder 125cc engine and can manage a payload of almost 200kg. Though it has a steering wheel as on a car it is fitted with only two pedals, an accelerator and a brake pedal. Initially offered with a tarpaulin hood, it was later available with a metal body, and also as a camping version. This particular example probably remained unsold as the Solyto production had ceased in the 1960s, and it was only registered in 1971. The current owner purchased it from the first owner in August 2009. Since then it has been comprehensively restored, except for the mechanical elements (engine seized). This Solyto was completely disassembled so that the body could be repaired, and then repainted in grey. The wooden rear floor is new, as is the canvas top, the tyres and the upholstery. A rarity on sale, this adorable little utility vehicle allows for the wind-in-the-hair experience, as well as is a useful and nice vehicle.
