Description: FRANCE, LATE 19TH CENTURY A French gilt bronze and white marble Cupid mantle clock. The clock sits on tapered feet surmounted by foliage supporting the white marble base with gilt beading. The clock sits on a column accented by a gilt floral wreath and gilt brass casing. The dial is decorated with hand painted Arabic numerals with quarter minute marks and floral wreath accents. The clock is surmounted by a fruit basket finial with flowing laurel wreaths. The clock is accented by a large gilt bronze cherub figure with one hand leaning on the clock while whispering a secret. The brass movement is unmarked.
Condition Report: Clock appears to run well, springs are not over wound. Clock includes original pendulum with winding key.
Dimensions: Measures 13 1/2" tall by 10 /4" deep by 5 1/2" deep.
