Description: Late 19th century pipe stand and humidor, ca 1890's. Base is hand carved balsa wood with Continental design featuring a central male face with pipe in mouth, possibly Indian or Middle Eastern. To the left of that central face, in order, is a large nosed man, an elephant whose missing some of his tusk, a female figure, and finally ending with a hinged door with two facial carvings that opens to reveal a cubby for tobacco storage, as well as two more carved faces on the interior of the door. Stemming from the base is a natural form branch, sanded and treated, with eight brass pipe mounts and pipes in each of them. H 26" x W 14" x D 11". Overall good condition, some minor wear and seen.
