Description: 19th century, Standard of the Kingdom of Ireland, a gold harp on a blue ground.
A celestial blue wool flag centred by a silver-stringed, gold Maid of Erin harp. h:50  w:60 in.

Other Notes: Prior to its incorporation into the lower-left quadrant of the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom in 1801, the Standard of the Kingdom of Ireland had been in use since 1542. Our thanks to Dr. John Gilmartin for his assistance in cataloguing this flag.

Condition Report: The flag structurally sound. Moth damage to the ground. Staining to lower right corner.
