Description: Two James Van Dyk (PA/CA b. 1930) etchings. 1st item: Etching on Arches paper, artist proof, "The Bride", signed and dated '59, lower rignt below plate. Plate - 11 3/4" x 9 7/8". Sheet - 16 7/8" x 12 1/4" with uneven margins. 2nd item: Etching and ink wash on Arches paper, artist proof, "Wounded Angel", signed and dated '59, lower right below plate. Bertha Shaefer Gallery, NY label en verso. Plate - 11 7/8" x 9 3/4". Matte -22 3/8" x 20". Provenance: From the estate of Robert L. Zarbock. After graduating from the University of Illinois School of Music, Zarbock became a producer of symphonic operatic music at RCA Record’s Victor label for many years. Upon retirement, he settled in California, where he served on the San Diego Opera Guild and the California Center for Arts. Proceeds will benefit Zarbock’s alma mater, the University of Illinois. Condition Report: 1st item: Slight toning to paper. Water stains lower margin. 2nd item: Image in good condition. some spotting in right lower margin. Paper taped to matte board. Matte with stains, cuts and tears.
