Author: William Melmoth - William Melmoth (sometimes "William Melmoth the Elder") was an English devotional writer and lawyer, whose major work, The Great Importance of a Religious Life Consider'd (1711), proved to be one of the most popular pieces of religious writing of the 18th century. He was the father of William Melmoth (1710–1799) a Commissioner of Bankrupts.

Condition / Notes: This antique set has detached boards on both volumes. The exteriors of these volumes display significant age/wear indications. The front endpapers and title page of the first volume are separated, and the front endpapers through the first few pages of text of the second volume are separated. The interiors of these volumes are well-preserved, bright and clean with only a few spots of foxing.
