This lot includes the group of rare antique bookends shown in the corresponding image. This lot consists of three pairs and one single bookend without its mate. The first of this group is a cast iron Liberty Bell with the name of the manufacturer Tiffin O. appearing along the bottom edge of each end. The second pair show busts of Shakespeare within an elaborately decorated frame. These bookends appear to be in bronze (or bronze-copper mix), and are marked with a "K" on the back side. The third item is a tall set of galleons at sail, made of copper or bronze, with traces of the original paint still visible. The last piece is the single bookend in a deco style by the Pompeyan Bronze Co. showing President Lincoln writing at a desk with a winged angel hovering to one side holding a wreath over his head. The title "The Emancipator" is to be found on the reverse side. The date 1925 appears there. These bookends range in height from 5 1/2" to 8".
