Description: 9ct. gold & enamel Football Association Councillor's badge issued to Sir Charles Clegg in season 1928-29, inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, COUNCIL, SIR CHARLES CLEGG J.P., SEASON 1928-29, brooch fitting Sir John Charles Clegg (15 June 1850-26 June 1937), better known as Charles Clegg, was chairman and later president of the Football Association. He was born in Sheffield and lived there his whole life. Originally a player, Clegg competed in the world's first ever international football match between England and Scotland in 1872.
