Description: Iron helmet bowl of 24 flat suji plates, the plates studded with sturdy, blunt hoshi (rivets). Russet iron surface. Inscribed "Myochin Kunimichi Saku". Four-stage, part-gilt tehen kanamono and agemaki-no-kan with red agemaki. Applied to the forehead and back of the head a copper plate with new silver plating, held by a shinodare, the gold plating renewed. Mabezashi and fukigaeshi applied with new leather, on it a katabami mon of the Morikawa clan. Three-lame ko manju shikoro of iron, lacquered black, renewed blue sugake lacing. Original helmet lining. Helmet band missing. Height 22 cm, width 40 cm.
