Description: Iron bowl formed of 24 flat suji plates, studded with robust, blunt hoshi (rivets) which decrease in size towards the tehen. Russet iron surface. Uninscribed. Four-stage iron tehen kanamono and agemai-no-kan. Forehead and back of the head coated with one smooth iron plate, held by two and three shinodare, respectively. Mabezashi, forehead plate and tehen kanamono decorated with clouds and dragon in sawari nunome. Five-lame ko manju shikoro of black lacquered iron with blue kebiki lacing. On the fukigaeshi a kikko mon of the Saai clan. Slightly damaged, original helmet lining with modern leather reinforcement. Height 24 cm, width 40 cm.
