Description: By Unshodo, Kyoto, Late 18th century. Standing slightly bent and holds his unsheathed sword at his side with his right hand while his left crosses in front of him to hold the right sleeve of his flowing robe, his empty scabbard hangs from his back. Signed on the bottom without reserve, Unshodo. 2 3/8in (6cm). Provenance: Purchased from Raymond Bushell 1960. Illustrated in Lazarnick, page 1305.
