Description: The seat with attached identification plates "Type 3152" and "MK. 3", "Date 15.7.74" and "Seat Srl. No. 46". Height 142 cm, width 53 cm. The Vulcan was a four-engine strategic jet bomber of British make, and was deployed by the RAF during the Cold War period as the first nuclear-armed aircraft capable of flying at 52,000 ft altitude. Its maiden flight took place on 30 August 1952. Because its enormous Delta wings make the aircraft difficult to detect via radar, it has been called the first stealth aircraft in the world. In the James Bond Film "Fireball" there is a famous scene in which a criminal organisation forces the aircraft to crash-land in the sea in order to steal two of its atomic bombs. Martin-Baker is the longest established and most experienced producer in the world of ejection seats and other instruments for aviator protection. Besides the Vulcan, this seat type was also employed in the Valiant, Vampire and Canberra aircraft. In the Vulcan only the pilot, and not the rest of the crew, had an ejection seat. Cf. a similar example in Christie's sale 7899, "Régence to Fabergé - An apartment by Jed Johnson", lot 153, 20 May 2010 which sold for 9,375 GBP. The extravagant form in combination with the chrome makes a fascinating piece of furniture, put to good use in modern settings.

We will, if possible, organise international shipping through forwarding agents or specialised courier services, however, with the consequence of noticeably higher shipping costs.
