Description: A Corinthian black glazed plemochoe, c. 6th - 5th Century BC, with characteristic circular body that sits on a ring base, single handle at side, the top decorated with vertical wavy lines around the rim. There are two old collection numbers on the underside. H: 2 1/10 in (5.3cm), D: 4 1/4 in (10.8cm). This form was used sparingly in the Attic region, and would have been used primarily to hold valuable liquids; the design of the deeply folded in rim was meant to prevent the contents from spilling.
