Consisting of a teapot, a sugar bowl and a milk jug. Each object is asymmetrically shaped as a trunk and decorated in-relief with blackthorn flowers; handles shaped as a branch; the teapot featuring ivory decorations on the handle; each object featuring the Wang Hing & Co mark. An identical tea service marked Wang Hing was sold at Christie's, SALE 3280 â€“ CHRISTIE's INTERIORS; 6 December 2011, London, South Kensington; lot.83.
Wang Hing was presumably the most prolific silversmith in China (in Hong Kong) during the 19th Century. His works, toghether with Luen Wo's ones, are cosidered the highest expression of the Chinese export silvers quality.
