Description: wool, pile
216cm across the top, 215cm across the bottom, 307cm the left hand side, 305cm the right hand side. With fine, flexible handle. Cotton foundation. Glossy, high quality wool. Pile dense, even and generally 3mm even overall. With an area down to 1mm and knotheads in the madder field in lower left of central medallion, visible in the photograph. There is a dark mark centre far left side visible from the photograph also. Both ends with overlocked later trimmed fringes. This carpet is in very good condition, with a very striking and unusual main field. Balanced by delicate colouring and drawing of the stepped cornered, banded, border.
