A flintlock pistol, dating: 18th Century
provenance: Northern Italy
Smooth, two-stage, octagonal and round, 17 mm cal. barrel, with three stamps at the breech, one depicting a hand holding a "S", another a big "R" and an unclear one, provided with brass foresight; flat plate lock marked "PRAT", roundish at the end; walnut full stock chiselled at the neck with outlined leaves; brass mounts decorated with bas-relieved foliage, counter-plate engraved with a trophy and rocaille; wooden ramrod.
