Description: The barrel formed in two stages with moulded girdle, the breech section octagonal and engraved with an acanthus leaf band bordering the girdle and with a prominent panel of interlaced scrolling flowers at the rear. 14 mm calibre. The lock polished bright, formed with a rounded tapering narrow tail, struck with an inverted mark, GG below a dot, the wheel retained by a single small bracket, and fitted with sliding pan-cover with lever release. Figured walnut full stock enclosing the front of the trigger-guard bow and carved with simple raised mouldings. Iron mounts comprising spurred pommel, trigger-guard, a pair of baluster-shaped ramrod-pipes, a moulded iron band fitted beneath the muzzle, and contemporary iron-capped wooden ramrod. Length 51 cm.
