Description: wool, pile
127cm across the top, 132cm across the bottom, 211cm from the left, 214cm from the right. Flexible handle with dense finely woven and closely sheared 2mm pile overall. With a very minor area of wear to the oxidised green foliage against the ivory ground (at the very top of the boteh in the main field). Very minor slight wear to madder ground to top corners of both spandrels. Minor losses at both ends, now overlocked, with vestiges of cotton fringing. With bands of herringbone on reverse of all edges. With later overcast sidecords. In very good condition, an attractive, ornate rug. Evocative of its type.
