Description: A late 18th century Italian carved giltwood and painted pine bust of a bishop Saint Augustine, the octagonal base painted saint Agosti ora pro nobis, 24 x 19in.

Condition Report: Saint- heavy wear to painted detailing throughout , noticeable on mitre at folds of cloak on left of front and back of figure which is drier and paler in appearance. Small cracks and larger crack (8ins) at back of saint, some old worm holes also at back of saint. Both ribbons which extend down from mitre are cracked and chipped, cracks to side of head, 5 old holes visible in lower part of bust, perhaps to fix it to present base. Base with general wear, but better than top in retaing its painted detail. Overall tired but fair. Crack running from neck down right side of chest.
