the ormolu dial with white enamelled reserves, the two-train eight-day movement with spring-driven going train and count-wheel striking train, signed on the backplate, Jacques Hory a Paris, contained within a case of typical form with arched cornice fitted with an ormolu border, flanked by ormolu oil lamp finials, raised on a flared rectangular base on ormolu paw feet; the whole veneered in première partie marquetry in brass and pewter on grounds of red tortoiseshell forming bellflowers, strapwork and foliate scrolls.
