Late 18th early 19th Century, one drilled for electricity, the other with replaced bobeches, drip-pans and pierced acanthus cup above the urn With two-tone gilding, with four floral branches at the top, with further large branches springing from an oval platform supported by a putto with upstretched arms, with trailing flowers behind, with slight variations to the chasing, rethreaded 33 in. (84cm.) high (2) PROVENANCE Baronne Ren‚e de Becker Baron Guy de Rothschild, sold Sotheby's London, 24 November 1972, lot 17. NOTES A set of four wall-lights of this model but with floral sprigs instead of acorns to the top is in the Wrightman Collection (Catalogue, no.232 A-D, pl. 420). A further related pair from the collection of the late Sir Cecil Beaton CBE at Reddish House, Broadchalke, Wiltshire, sold at Christie's House Sale, 9 June 1980, lot 56.
