A Meissen Porcelain Reticulated Basket
Fourth Quarter 19th Century
The S-scroll rim with oval piercing over lattice work sides heightened with gilt, centering on each long side a floral cartouche, the interior painted with a bouquet of Deutsche Blumen, flanked by vine handles applied with leaf sprigs terminating in curved vine feet, underglaze blue crossed swords mark, incised E.152., impressed 60, (restorations).
Length between handles 21in (53.5cm); height 8in (20.5cm)
Condition:
Restorations overall. Appears to have been previously broken into several pieces reassembled and overpainted. Leaf sprigs from handles are chipped, and one slender stem is broken off and missing.
