England, late 18th- early 19th century. Pewter hinged lid having central medallion and Latin phrase translating to Victory over Paralysis covering etched glass with image of skull and crossbones under depiction of chalice and crossed keys all above a double medallion etched with wheat and animal holding flag. Surrounded by landscape and architectural etchings throughout, fluted underside with initials I S, 6"h.
