Description: shaped rectangular box centered by the monogram of Queen Victoria below diamond-set Imperial crown against deep blue guilloché enamel oval; on a trellis ground set with diamonds against blue enamel, matched in enamel on the sides and base 

Condition Report: cover and base in good condition, front and side panels with some enamel loss to lower parts, also at corners, otherwise good,

Provenance: Probably presented by Queen Victoria during her 1855 visit with Prince Albert to Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie in Paris.  The state visit, from August 17 to 28, was in return for Napoleon's visit to London earlier that year,
