Description: A nice Near Eastern bronze finial, c. 1000 600 BC, in two part, a bronze tube lower portion with central pin and upper finial in the form of rampant felines, each with attenuated bodies and detailed heads atop slender necks, the tail curled into a loop. The head with gaping fanged jaws and almond-shaped eyes, central mane running down the back of the neck. H: 10 ¼ in (20.6 cm). Nicely patinated and set on a flat wood base.
