Description: Attributed to Mondo (1857-1917), Osaka, Early 20th century. Standing as the dragon climbs on his shoulder. Wearing polychrome decorated robes and holding a pearl. Done in the style of Yoshimura Shuzan. Mondo perfected Shuzan's style, and was responsible for many of the "Shoken Kisho" netsuke exported to the west. 3 3/8in (8.7cm). Provenance: Ex Richards collection. Purchased from R. Koscherak, 1957.
