Description: A pair of 1940 Sandown Park badges, consisting of a gentleman's badge, numbered 9298, and an un-numbered lady's; two very rare badges, with again the Sandown Racecourse collection believed not to possess examples; it is thought that the membership badges for 1940 were issued in late 1939, but then withdrawn, only for the designs to be reused when racing resumed at Sandown in 1947 For the record, no badges were issued for the years 1941-46.
