Condition Report: Please mention conservator's report in condition report, may need to cut down/ re-phrase and take out photosDescription; An unglazed terracotta camel, with applied decoration.Condition:The camel has breaks in all four legs , some old and previoulsy repaired, some new, from recent impact. The base is also broken, newly, and there is also an old repair. Damage to baseRepairs to baseDuring treatmentTreatment:All four legs were reattached with Paraloid B72 (30% w:v in Acetone). Fills to the break edges were made with a calcium carbonate filler, terracotta coloured, and re touched with Golden fluid acrylics to tone.Handling /Display:This piece remains extremely fragile, due to the number of breaks in the legs and the fact that the main body of the camel is very heavy. Always lift the camel by supporting the base with one hand and the underbelly of the camel with the other. Avoid placing the camel on uneven surfaces, as this may cause the fragmentary base to break again. Avoid moving this pieceas much as possible. Keep in a dry, cool environment, dry dust only - the decoration is very fugitive and friable.
