Description: A pair of late 19th Century leather hoof boots or lawn boots, thick leather soles attached to the upper cover by copper studs, each 13cm high, 21cm long (faults) These boots were used in the Victorian and Edwardian eras to cover the hooves of horses and donkeys who were used to pull lawn mowers across large grass lawns. The boots protected the grass from divots caused by the hooves.
